Boatyard
During the course of 2020, the Government entered into a License agreement with the Mid Harbour Small Boats Marina whereby 6, Coaling Island was handed over to MHSBM for a boatyard to be built on this area. During 2024, this became a reality and MHSBM now have a purpose-built boatyard for the use by all its members.
The facility has a fixed pedestal mount crane for hauling and launching vessels. The yard will be able to have a significant number of boats (some 30) on hard standing for work to be done on them. The Boatyard has approximately 400 square meters of concreted Hard Standing has a wet dock from which to lift and launch vessels from. It also has vehicle access and trucks will also be able to deliver and take away vessels as required. The Boatyard has the enough trailers , boat stands etc to transport boats from Crane lift to Hard Stand. The Boat yard is also equipped with a Power Pressure cleaner to clean the underside of boats prior to transporting to Hard Stand.
The Boat Yard has Yard lighting and has Electricity and water available at each Hard Stand position. It is also equipped with CCTV monitored from the Marina Office and by our Security contractors who also patrol the Yard regularly during silent hours. The yard will be open 365/6 days a year from 0800hrs. to 2100 hrs. in Summer and 0800hrs. to 2000 hrs. in Winter. It is access controlled and can only be accessed by persons/contractors who have boats on Hard Standing. No vehicles will be allowed on the Boat Yard other than for the purpose of delivering/collecting items and these will require clearance by the Pier Master.
The boatyard will have an undercover area where boats can be stored for wintering.
It is also equipped with Office, storage and toilets. All manner of boat repairs, cleaning, painting and maintenance work will be carried out, either by owners or contractors. We have entered into Associate Commercial agreements with various contractors who are fully licenced in Gibraltar and have adequate insurance to do such work in our facility either in the Yard or afloat in the Marina. These entities are listed in the section “Contractors” with this section.
The Boatyard is managed by the Pier Master and is ably supported by our contractors Complete Yacht Care Limited who operate the Crane with Licensed fully competent persons to use the crane and land and launch vessels.
The Crane and part of the Boat Yard will be shared with our directly adjacent neighbours, the Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club and any other user who have entered an agreement with us e.g. the Watergardens Marina.

All members are required to keep their own hard standing area clean and free from rubbish at all times.
