Good Afternoon members…… It has been brought to our notice by the Pier Master that members that are wintering their boats are not following the agreed procedures by which they have to advise Captain of the Port, in fact seek permission from him. It is also the case that there are also instances where members have boats not registered in their berths once again contrary to the Statute. Notwithstanding, and in order for the MHSBM Association to have a good overall view of the Marina and its security, we urge that members advise us through the telephone/Office/Members Forum of any changes in their Berth situations so that we can properly manage your Marina and if necessary follow up with the Port the necessary permissions or documentations. It is also important to us to know how many boats would require Winterising as we intend to have a programme for winterising in the Yard next year and therefore information of empty berths this year is of interest to us. As part of our good governance, we will be monitoring empty berths (those empty over three months) and those not registered with us as having a reason to be empty, will be reported to the Port. It is imperative that we have a clear picture of the number of empty berths. These numbers are important on the back of the moratorium which the Government have announced on the issue of berths. We will be presenting a motion to the AGM on this issue.
