COMMITTEE UPDATES – 04/07/2025

Good Afternoon…… In the first instance we would like to advise all members that following the successful trial to Gate 2, we have now changed the mechanism of all Gates and hope that this system will work better than the previous one with the “roller ball”. Members are asked to report back any issues as some may still be need final adjustment. There are still some 35 members that have not paid their berthing fees. These have now been charged the Penalty as approved in the AGM and are being sent a final letter after which they will be sent the Disciplinary board for expulsion and eventual revocation of their berth.. There was an incident yesterday where a foreign vessel berthed on the outside of our Pontoons. Please be advised that we reacted immediately by calling in the Pier Master, calling Port, Customs and the Police. This was the maximum that the Association could do since this type of incident does not fall within our jurisdiction. Our security guards were advised to ensure that nobody left that boat and tampered with any of ours. Whilst on the subject of the outside berths, please be advised that these are only EMERGENCY BERTHS which can only be used in the case of an emergency. Notwithstanding the boat has to be removed from the berth within 24 hours. It is not a berth where you can repair your boat in. If you cannot return it to your berth, you should arrange for it to be lifted onto the yard, but IT SHOULD NOT REMAIN IN THE OUTSIDE BERTHS FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS.
One final issue is the fact that we have had some members complaining of other members using their property, particularly hoses. Please do not use anybody’s property without the permission of that person.
