COMMITTEE UPDATES – 10/04/2026

Mid Harbour Small Boats Marina
after

The OSG extra patrols will finish on Sunday after the School Easter break. The Captain will monitor the Marina activities and will advise the Committee once he feels that the patrols are required again. They will certainly be back for the Summer period when the schools are out but the Committee feels that they are not required yet.

As requested by the AGM, we have today sent an invoice to the Gibraltar Government via the Port for 68 Empty Berths. This is the Official list number although as we did last year, we will send another invoice at the end of the year to cover the totality of the empty berths which is more like 90 but we will do this when we can confirm the empty berth i.e. NO boat in the berth and NO payment received. We will keep you abreast of this, but suffice it to say that the Gibraltar Government now owe us (obviously as we understand their obligation) some £60,000. As requested by the AGM, we will be following this up after the Government has finalised the BREXIT negotiations as we do not want to create aggro for the Government at this juncture in Gibraltar’s future. We will not rest until a decision is taken and we can have a full Marina with 700 paying members.

Gents…… Please note that if any member pays his berthing fees etc. via Bank transfer, it is absolutely essential that you put a reference with your Berth Number. The Accounts team have problems allocating the payments to the specific person if this is not referenced properly. We would appreciate it if care is taken to ensure this.

All the Diving operations have now finished with Marinetek having sorted out all the Sea Flexes, either changed or tightened. Maintenance in other areas will continue tomorrow with three finger pontoons to be changed next week starting Monday. This is part of the three year maintenance plan that was announced at the AGM to bring back to the present the neglect suffered over the last 10 years with no Marina Maintenance whatsoever despite the many contacts by Marinetek. We need to thank the Captain, Mr. Jason Mesilio, who contacted Marinetek and managed to put all this together ably assisted by the Operational Committee.

The follow up plan for next year will be submitted to the Committee by Marinetek on their return to Finland. This will be published as was the last one.
