COMMITTEE UPDATES – 22/04/2026

The Pier Master has advised the Committee that following last year’s advise that member’s should ensure that their water hoses are kept properly and do not, unless done professionally, disappear underneath the pontoons, an exercise will be conducted by the Marina Operative which will remove all those hoses. Members are requested to check their hoses and ensure that they meet the high standards that we expect of our members so that we can ensure that there is no wastage of water. Once again, please ensure that no hose is left connected to the water system when not in use.
Good Afternoon…..It has been brought to our attention of the Committee that the Port is advising berth holders who get new boats or want to transfer, that there is a size constraint requested by the MHSBM Association Committee of 7.5 meters i.e. if the boat is greater than 7.5m it is allowed to go on a large berth and if it is smaller than 7.5m, it has to go to a small berth.
Although we welcome the moves by the Port to regulate the Marina, please note that we advised the CoP some time back, that we would want the break off measurement to be 6.5m i.e. anything larger than 6.5m can go to a large berth and anything smaller than 6.5m can go to a small berth.
This Committee stands by what it decides and would therefore like to clarify that although Dock controllers using the authority vested in CoP, can issue whatever instruction that CoP decides on, it CANNOT USE THE COMMITTEE AS A SCAPEGOAT since in this instance, we do not agree with this measurement and cannot therefore support it. We believe that the measurement should be 6.5. meters
