21/Following our last communication, I would like to advise you on the different things that your committee is doing:

1.            The Committee set up two Sub-committees to take up the various important issues facing us

a)            A yard Committee was appointed to take forward the setting up of the Yard. The Committee is headed by Mr. John Canepa and aided by Mr. Joseph (Pepe) Figueredo

b)            A Finance Committee headed by Mr. Suresh Mahtani and aided by Mr. Jason Mesilio.

Both Committees are under the auspices of the President aided by the Secretary.

2.            The yard committee is working on the various things required to open the yard. These are:

a)            The Security wall/fence surrounding the area – Final agreement was arrived at with GJBS whereby they have now started the job and towards the cost of which which the Government have contributed. This will now secure the area which, together with the extension of the existing camera system being studied by the Committee, will provide the necessary security for Boats left in the yard.

b)            The Nissen Hut Planning issues – pending report by AKS

c)            Crane base problems – being dealt with by Government

d)            Receipt of merchandise bought by previous committee and doing Stock take of all equipment and checking on suitability.

3.            The Finance committee is also working on various things mainly:

a)            Finalising the 2023 Accounts with AMS

b)            Bringing the accounts of 2024 (January to date) up to date

c)            Preparing tender docs for provisioning of the services required to operate the Marina e.g. Pier master

4.            Various meetings have or are to be arranged to introduce the new Committee to the different authorities/Associations that MHSBM Association must work with and in some cases where there are issues to discuss.

a)            Cormorant Camber Boat Marina

b)            Yacht Club

c)            Port Department

5.            The new Yard Rules (Conditions for Haul Out of Vessels) and the Haul Out and Launch Forms and costs are being finalised now. We have to thank the Cormorant Camber Committee for their help and advice on this.
