OTHER BUSINESS

  1. AGM was confirmed for the 27th March at the Mackintosh Hall at 7 pm.  The Secretary advised that he would be stepping down as Secreatary but wished to be considered for member status. The Treasurer also advised the same in his case. The Acting Vice President wished to put his name down for re-election. Mr Mesilio expressed his interest in becoming Captain and so did the present post holder, so this position will need to be put to the vote.  Members absent would be asked if they want to continue. It was noted that Mr. Edgar Colton had asked for his name to be put forward as a committee member. Various proposals were discussed, and an agenda is being prepared for the AGM. The president felt that issues of increases should be left for an EGM later in the year when the full year, particularly of the yard had been determined. Two issues being late payment charge of 2% per month and a charge per day for unregistered boats would be taken to the AGM. President to look at procedures etc. to ensure that the AGM notices etc were done properly.
  2. A Proposal put to have Pontoon leaders put by Pepe Figueredo was discussed and agreed. It was felt that Mr. Figueredo should discuss this with the various pontoon members and brought back to the Committee for follow up.
  3. A Proposal by Mr. Mesilio to equip the Pier Master with the necessary uniform was agreed and the Committee asked the Operational committee to follow this up.
  4. It was agreed that the Yard should be a No Smoking area and that no pets should be allowed. It was also agreed that no children of age 12 or under should be allowed in the Yard. Notices would be put up accordingly.
  5. It was reported that all the Marina ladders were being refurbished and would then be maintained. The Committee also felt that ladders should be put by the walkway and the Wall where an accident had happened and where the person had been unable to get out of the water onto the walkway. Committee agreed asked that the Pier Master should be advised of this with a view of getting the necessary quotes.
  6. The President reported that he was getting nowhere with the Port and seemed to have been ignored by the Minister as well. He had advised the CM as Patron of this and was awaiting a reply.
