Minutes

1. Opening Remarks

  • We are moving in the right direction and its good to see us all aligned on a common goal.

2. Approval of Previous Minutes

  • The minutes of the previous meeting have been approved.

3. JBS Works Update

  • JBS works have been finished, and the invoice has been issued for payment, totaling £35,554.03.

4. Snagging Meeting

  • The snagging meeting was held, and all is complete and fine.

5. Weight Test for Loose Block

  • The weight test indicated no impact with the loose block. We just need the green light to place the block back in its place and begin operating the crane.
  • GJBS will place the block back at some point, even if they need to work around us.

6. Engineering Report for Nissen Huts

  • The engineering report indicates a cost of £47,900 to fix the Nissen huts for use as storage. It should then be approved as a permanent structure.
  • A vote was held to proceed:
    • Joe: Yes
    • Pepe: No
    • Everyone else: Yes

7. New Finger Pontoon

  • We need a finger pontoon to make lifting the boats easier. The cost is £23,000, including transport and fitting.
  • John Canepa got the first quote; Derek Sene will get the second quote.
  • The preliminary cost of £23,000 has been approved.

8. Crane Cover

  • The crane cover spend has been halted.

9. Tender Documents Discussion

  • Tenders are all out, and responses have been received.
  • Gareth will post the Pier Master job role on Facebook.

10. Focus Camera Installation

  • Focus has finished installing cameras and linking systems. We will have a meeting with Daniel Bosano regarding a maintenance contract.

11. Meeting with Captain of the Port

  • The meeting went well. We are liaising with the dock controllers as a working group to clear the pontoon names and boat numbers lists as currently its quite a mess.
  • We will review the arrears process and enforcement.
  • We need to discuss empty berths with the Minister, as the Captain says it has stopped at the ministerial level.
  • There are people living in boats in the marina on pontoon K (K21 and K23). This needs to be addressed urgently as it is not allowed in the constitution.

12. Meeting with Victor (Office Admin)

  • The meeting with Victor went well. He was pressed to chase outstanding fees, which he did. He will try to be more proactive.

13. Any Other Business (AOB)

  • Jason, Acting Captain, has reviewed all the pontoons (A-L) and noted there are 84 eyebolts.
  • The mess on the pontoons needs to be addressed.
