Agenda and Discussions:

  1. Yard Readiness:
    1. The yard will not be ready for the upcoming summer season.
    1. We are awaiting a technical services report regarding the loose block issue.
    1. We are awaiting the Engineering report by AKS which once approved by Building Control, will be estimated and brought to the Committee.
    1. Wall and Fence built continues and should be ready by mid June.

2.      Yacht Club Meeting:

  • Meeting by President and Secretary reviewed the current MOU which was accepted by both sides with the exception of a discussion of an alternative location for the placing of the Yacht boat. A new location was agreed on which was inside the prohibited area but both sides would amend and send for signature. Both sides agreed to work together.
    • The meeting with Camber Marina was very positive, and all necessary information regarding yard operation was shared with us.

3.      Yard Financials:

  • It was discussed that the yard needs to reimburse the marina once operational.

4.      Security Tender:

  • The tender will be divided into four parts:
    • Pier Master
    • Security
    • Office Manager
    • Crane Operator and Yard/Marina Operators

A discussion ensued whereby it was felt that the Yard needed to employ a Pier master directly whose role would be to ensure that all contracts were working well. This role would be a 24 hour role reporting to the Captain and the President. The marina day to day activities requires a handyman and this should be amalgamated with the Yard’s Crane Operator and maintenance person. It was also felt that the admin work should also be directly employed and supervised by the Pier master always reporting to the President/Treasurer. An exercise highlighting the requirements would be produced by the President.

5.      GJBS Ǫuotes:

  • Confirmed GJBS quotes via votes on WhatsApp.
    • The job is progressing well.

6.      Focus Ǫuote

  • Ǫuote of £4230,34 for Camera system for the Yard and to link it to the existing Marina Camera system, was approved unanimously

7.      Focus Ǫuote

  • The matter of the use by the members of the Camera system was discussed and it was felt, particularly after the comments by the GRA that the best possible system was to have the cameras doing a roving patrol which will go from boat to boat and which members could link up to and wait to see their boat. The Marina would record those cameras. It was to ask Focus to set this up and advise members accordingly.

8.      Communications:

  • An email has been sent to the Captain of the Port.
    • JT security email is to be sent.

Next Meeting:

  • Date: 5th June
  • Time: 17:15

Meeting adjourned.
