Minutes of the last meeting of the May 2025 were approved.
Agenda:
- It appeared that the Fork lifter was working better but still not a good vehicle to tow the boat trailers. Still slightly jerky. Operational committee to follow up.
2 Nissen Hut
- Works were now programmed for starting mid to late July and would be completed by September 25
3. Liaison with the Port.
- The president reported that the Berth survey had been completed and that both sides were now in unison with reference to the Berth situation. The sub Committee met and identified the letters to be sent to empty berth holders but the major decisions reference Small/large boats on Large/small berths and derelict Boats and the classification of these would need to be discussed at the quarterly meeting with the CoP. It would also determine the parameters for the changeover of berths etc..
4. Security Sub Committee
- The Captain will prepare a report for the EGM.
5. Pontoon Leaders
- The Captain is liaising with the Pontoon members and has already established nearly all pontoons but there are still some which need sorting out. Matter is being followed up with the President. It is hoped that by the July meeting, all pontoons will have their official leader.
6. Marina Pontoon/Flex maintenance.
- The Operations Committee is preparing this report but need to contact MARINETEK before the study is set up to look at the initial contract if available. There has been no movement on this.
7. Bookkeeping
- Following the discussion at the last meeting, the President explained that he had not received any interest other than from AMS which were our accountants and Resolute Management which are our present administration and the entity who is doing it at present. It was agreed that the proposal by each would be passed to the Treasurer for discussion with the President and a final decision would be taken and brought to the next Committee meeting for ratification.
- The President explained that having already some 9 months of the new system under our belts, it was felt by the operations Committee that there should be a different system for running the yard and the Marina. It was felt that given the effort to start the Yard, the Marina maintenance had suffered. It was also a contention that CYC needed a minimum of 3 persons to be able to lift a boat. The president would have meetings with CYC and with the Pier master to determine the way forward. It was determined nevertheless that the Yard did not require a 6 day a week manpower structure. It was also decided that the Pier Master would need to be in situ at the Marina Office as he was the overall responsible for all contractors and needed now to take responsibility for everything and ease off from the Yard which could now work independently. A report would be brought to the next Committee meeting.
9. Water Issues
- The President explained that we were having problems with loss of water. He felt that this was compounded by the fact that there were many members that had their hoses permanently connected under the pontoons and this was very difficult to control if there was a loss of water. Members would be advised that no hoses could be left connected to the water outlets but that this was not enough. After a discussion, it was agreed that the Committee would advise members that having hoses connected below the pontoons would not be allowed. Members should clean their vessels and the store their hoses and not leave them connected to their boats.
