Dear Members,

As previously advised, the Committee has been changing all our operational systems in order to streamline these and also to make them more efficient and certainly cheaper.

As you are aware, we interviewed various well qualified candidates for the post of PIERMASTER. This person will work directly to the Committee supervising the contractors to ensure efficiency and value for money. He will be directly in charge of the Marina and the Yard, reporting to the Officers in charge of these. In the case of the yard, Mr John Canepa is the Committee member responsible and in the case of the Marina, Mr Jason Mesilio. These two Committee members together with the President, Mr. Joe Pilcher, form the Operational Committee.

The successful candidate was RICHARD WEBBER, ex Dockmaster at GIBDOCK with many years of experience with boats of all kinds. He has a great experience and background to the Gibraltar Marine scene. He will be starting with us on 9th September 2024, and his first task will be to sort out the working practices of the other contractors which we will announce shortly. He will also be preparing Marina Maintenance programmes and will have the manpower via the successful contractor, to see it through.

We would appreciate your assistance in making these changes a success for the betterment of our Marina.

His main task initially, will be to prepare the yard to service our members boats. We are working flat out on this and will shortly be in a position to start lift testing etc.
