Good Afternoon Members,

This is to advise you the Vice President, Mr. Derek Sene, has resigned from the Committee on the basis that he is not able to attend the Committee meetings and would prefer to leave his role to another member to perform.

In the first instance, let me thank Mr. Sene for the many years that he has given to the Association, which sentiment I am sure that you all share.

The Committee will now, in a temporary capacity and until the next AGM, ask one of its members to perform this role. We will let you know who will be doing this task. At the same time, let me ask whether there is any member who is willing to be co-opted into the Committee, since you know that we now need every help that we can get. If any member wishes to be considered to be co-opted into the Committee, we ask him to advise the Committee in the new forum which we recently opened in the Business What’s-App. This forum is on a one to one basis and therefore, any comments will be between the member and the Committee.

Dear Members,

Following various representations made by certain members wishing to Pressure Wash their own boats, The Committee has agreed to allow MEMBERS (Please note that this applies to members only) who wish to power wash their own boats to do so on the following conditions:

1.            The Boat when lifted will be placed in a Special Hard Standing place which is situate beside the crane which is the only area allocated by the Authorities for the purpose of Boat Pressure wash because of it contains the necessary drainage and separators. 

2.            The boat will have to be cleaned once Crane operations cease at 2 pm, because of safety concerns.

3.            The owner will be charged a one-off fee of £10 (this is the same for all members) for Water and will need to use his own pressure equipment

4.            The owner will be responsible to ensure that the area is clean after the Pressure hosing. Please note that if the area is left dirty, Yard rules will be applied.

5.            Once finished arrangements will be made for the boat to be lifted again and to be taken to its allocated Hard Standing place. The extra lift will be charged at £15 for 6 meters and under, and £20 for over 6 meters boats (Discounts will not be applicable to these lifts as the cost has already been brought down to the lowest possible).

We hope that this will satisfy those members who, for one reason or another, wish to be in direct control of their boats at all times even when power washed.

Good afternoon,  Following the initial tests performed on the Crane, we are now in a position to start lifting boats although in a staggered basis.

After discussing the matter with the Pier Master and the CYC personnel, and in the knowledge that the bigger trolleys are still to arrive in Gibraltar, we believe that we need to make a start. We are therefore asking members with boats of under 5 meters in length and weighing less that 1 ton, to contact us via the Members Forum, to show your interest. This will be followed up by the Pier Master who will contact you and arrange for the boat to be lifted and placed in the Hard Standing.

  If there are more boats interested than we can cope with, we will look into this before taking any decisions.

We will advise members via updates when the bigger trolleys are here and we can we can open up the lifting to other lengths and weight.
