COMMITTEE UPDATES – 10/05/2025

Dear members…Following the problem of water consumption that I advised you of last week, members continue to have their hoses connected to the Water towers. This practise has to stop as it is not possible to identify a water leak if the hose in question disappears into a boat or is a distance away from the supply. NO PERMANENT water connections will be allowed and these will be disconnected by the Pier Master. We have no issue with systems being connected whilst being used but these have to be disconnected once you have finished. The Pier Master also reports that there are a number of hoses scattered around the pontoons, some of which are not used and are broken. The Pier master will start removing these from the Pontoons as from next week and members are therefore asked to keep the hoses either in a tidy way on the pontoon or within their boats. Your support is required to ensure that we are not paying for wasted water.
Good Morning…the Committee are now finalising the winterising of boats in the Nissen Hut and work will soon commence to make this happen. Members are therefore asked to submit their interest and register their boats for this. More information on the final price etc., will be issued shortly but we now require to know numbers. Please e-mail info@mhsbm.gi or ring 20070445 to register your interest. The Committee
Good Afternoon….Another reminder to those members that have not paid their fees. As from 1st June 2025, all access rights to those members will be blocked and a 2% late payment charge on the unpaid balance will be levied. REMEMBER…the Marina requires everybody’s payment to be able to pay its bills and it is UNFAIR on those members who have paid and who are funding it at present. Members are further reminded that rule 14.2 of the Constitution states: “Annual subscriptions are payable in advance and any arrears of any kind owed to the Association shall be payable on demand. Any debt over three months may render the Member liable to expulsion from the Association with revocation of the Berth holder’s permit by the CoP and removal of his vessel from MHSBM basin by GPA.” TH COMMITTEE
