Dear members….it is great to have seen the different views expressed in the members group. This clearly shows that there is a need to put it to the AGM. Please note however, that as a Committee and in an AGM, we can only enhance (explain clearly the initial intention) a rule or create or create Bye laws which further the Objects of the Association. We believe this enhancement would in fact be in furtherance of the effective implementation of health and safety procedures. The Committee or the AGM cannot alter any rules unless its Rules we have a minimum of two thirds of the members present at an AGM. Even then, we would have to get the approval of the Captain of the Port. Any motion which seeks to change the rules would therefore fall and not be heard if there is not a two thirds of the membership present. In any case, we urge members to put their motions before the 21st March 2025 which the Committee has decided is the closing date for the presentation of motions in order to have a clear agenda for the AGM.
